DIRECTOR OF STAFFING – FULL-TIME
Corporate Office – Markham
Effective: Immediately
Reporting to the Senior Vice-President, People, the Director of Staffing will have complete end-to-end responsibility for the staffing function and team and for establishing accompanying processes and metrics for a major healthcare service provider. The incumbent will also determine best practices, and implement the associated technical systems to attract and retain organization wide talent.
Responsibilities:
• Establish effective processes that enable the efficient and streamlined hiring of employees at all levels in order to meet the staffing requirements of the organization.
• Identify and implement best practices that will result in attracting talent to the organization and build a pipeline of talent for future staffing decisions.
• Implement and leverage technology to improve upon hiring and on-boarding processes.
• Determine appropriate metrics to assess the effectiveness and results of staffing processes.
• Work with hiring managers to ensure successful on-boarding of new employees.
• Lead a team of staffing professionals to deliver upon the organization’s hiring requirements, provide coaching and feedback, assess performance, and develop the team, as required.
• Consult and work with leaders in all areas of the business and support workforce planning and forecasted staffing requirements.
• Assess a variety of sourcing methods to attract talent, including on line resources, job fairs, and professional associations, and recommend those that will deliver on the most effective results for the organization.
• Recruits personally for VP level and above staffing requirements.
• Provide reporting and visibility on the status of staffing activity to the SVP, People as required.
• Collaborate with all HR colleagues to determine, for example, compensation requirements, job content, etc. as needed, and provide competitive data as identified through the staffing process.
• Continually explore options to improve the performance and results of the staffing area and HR in general.
• Participate on special projects as determined through the annual planning and objective setting process.
Requirements:
• University degree in a related field or a minimum 10 years’ experience in a dedicated staffing/recruitment leadership role.
• Proven experience in implementing effective staffing processes and metrics that achieve results.
• Experience in a high volume staffing environment with multiple different roles and sourcing requirements.
• Proven leadership ability.
• High internal customer service orientation and track record of developing and building effective relationships.
• Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills.
• Ability to communicate with all levels in the organization and to adapt communication style accordingly.
• Current on leveraging technology to improve staffing processes and results.
