Systems Analyst
One of Canada's largest retail and distribution companies with operations from coast to coast is expanding and redesigning their IT infrastructure department. This prestigious organization believes strongly that innovation within operations and logistics is achieved through advances in technology.
This strategy has ensured continued profitability and provided IT professionals the opportunity to gain experience with cutting edge technologies. They are looking to add a Systems Analyst to their team.
Responsibilities:
- Perform analysis of business requirements for new or existing systems
- Confer with business units to analyze current procedures, identify problems, and learn specific requirements
- Write detailed descriptions of user needs, program functions and prepare design documents ensuring proper IT standards are followed
- Assist in building the test cases
- Support the implementation within the distribution centres
- Travel throughout Canada 30% to 40% of the time
Requirements:
- Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Business or any relevant discipline
- Strong background in Systems Analysis and Development
- Knowledge of business analysis, systems analysis and quality assurance methodologies and data warehouse
- Strong experience with SQL or PL/SQL
- Solid experience with the following is desirable: UNIX/Linux, Visual Basic (or vbscripit), Crystal Reports, Cognos and MS Office
- Detail oriented, professional, and strong multi-tasking skills
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required
