Assistant Brand Experience Manager - Gap- Hillcrest Mall
The Assistant Brand Experience Manager’s primary responsibility is executing the day-to-day action plans developed by the leadership team to provide an effective and efficient store operation. The Assistant Brand Experience Manager focuses primarily on the merchandise handling and replenishment processes and all aspects of visual presentation within the store. The Assistant Brand Experience Manager maintains an organized stockroom and serves as Leader On Duty (LOD) to provide sales floor and store operations supervision as required. They support the leadership team in fostering a positive work environment by role modeling Gap Inc. Purpose, Values and Behaviors.
• Supports and ensures execution of all shipment receiving and processing procedures to floor ready standards
• Partners with appropriate manager to direct shipment placement on sales floor
• Ensures floor is replenished per company guidelines
• Performs stock transfers of damaged and defective merchandise, completes re-ticketing of merchandise and charge sends according to Stock Supervisor Manual
• Provides feedback to manager regarding merchandise-handling concerns/opportunities
• Assists manager with focal process for direct reports
• Creates development and training plans for direct reports
• Trains and coaches Brand Experience team members to meet productivity standards
• Provides on-the-job training to all employees on company initiatives and standards to ensure that everyone fully understands company direction
• Provides in the moment coaching on sales floor to staff to reward good behavior and to redirect when needed
• Communicates feedback to General Manager/Brand Experience Manager regarding Brand Experience team performance
• Oversees and executes markdowns in a timely and accurate manner
• Tracks productivity and ensures that the team is meeting company standards for all Brand Experience tasks
• Maintains brand integrity in all areas of visual display
• Implements and complies with presentation book standards, adjusting visual presentation to consistently ensure brand appropriateness
• Maps merchandise flow and product placement
• Generates and analyzes merchandising reports and makes necessary product placement adjustment based on selling and company reports
• Reviews delivery reports to plans for merchandise placement/substitution
• Maintains all shipment related paperwork to meet audit requirements
• Scans boxes to document variances on deliveries and confirm receipt delivery
• Shares feedback from customers to leadership team to improve overall customer experience
• Ensures participation in community involvement to drive brand awareness and loyalty
• Manages all store supplies including shipment supplies and fixtures, and communicates needs to manager
• Ensures all back room areas including bathrooms and employee break areas are cleaned regularly
• Ensures store is a neat, clean and safe environment for all employees
• Communicates and manages floor coverage as Leader On Duty (LOD)
• Reports to General Manager and/or indirectly to Brand Experience Manager
• Creates teams and partnerships with all members of the leadership team
• Supervises some of the Brand Experience team as determined by manager
Qualifications
• Ability to model professional behavior, as outlined in the Code of Business Conduct, at all times
• Ability to communicate effectively with staff and management, even under pressure
• Ability to follow written and verbal instruction
• Ability to give basic direction to associate level employees
• Ability to create a positive work environment
• Ability to listen to feedback and take constructive action
• Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of staff
• Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service when on the sales floor
• Ability to motivate associates to proactively perform replenishment tasks which result in the customers satisfaction
• High School graduate or equivalent
• Previous retail experience preferred
• Experience supervising teams preferred
• Open availability and flexibility to work nights, weekends, store openings and closings, to meet the needs of the business
