Application Support Specialist

Accountability/?Position Summary:
Accountable for the appropriate design and implementation of solutions to address problems/?situations driven by the business needs of our direct and indirect customers, within defined quality and time guidelines under the supervision of a senior developer.?


As Application Support Specialist, you will be primarily responsible for providing support existing corporately developed applications. You will answer customer calls in a professional and timely manner, and use all support tools, mechanisms and processes to pro-actively identify and resolve issues. You are a strong communicator, able to identify the nature of the problem to reduce business disruptions, assess phone conversations, prioritize calls, follow up and escalate time frames for resolution. You will create a detailed audit history record for proper tracking, resolution, follow-up and resolve tickets in a timely and effective manner.

This is a progressive position to learn about application and web development, towards becoming an application developer.

Key Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will be able to:
. Work along with project teams to define and execute test cases
. Assist project teams in the design, development and implementation of software solutions within approved schedule and budget
. Assist project teams to create documentation
. Develop Code

Functional/?Technical Knowledge and Skills:
The candidate will have experience in:
. Developing and execution of Test Cases using Test Director; familiar with standard test methodologies
. Lotus Notes Designer formula and scripting language
. Sharepoint Application Support/Design/Security Structure
. ASP.NET, C#
. HTML, Javascript, jQuery, DOJO
. experience with general programming

Other Skills/?Competencies/?Attributes:
. University student in Computer Science or related field of study
. Strong interpersonal skills and the competence to work in a diverse community in a team environment
. Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision
. Good written and oral communication skills
. Knowledge and experience in internet technology, telecommunications and networking a plus
