Sr. Programmer Analyst - Capital Markets
We are currently recruiting for a Senior Developer who will work in a dynamic team environment and be responsible for the following:
• Work with the business functional team to develop application prototypes and facilitate collaborative interface development sessions.
• Lead and perform design, coding, testing, implementation activities for J2EE web-based applications following industry accepted design methodologies for capital markets including Design Patterns.
• Interfacing with front-office traders, Operations personnel and technologists on a day-to-day basis in order to provide assistance with issues & processes.
• Analyzing business requirements for application/process enhancements and communicating development requirements to team.
• Understanding all the policies that impact the technology team and customizing interaction with clients appropriately
• Promote extensibility and reusability in application design and coding.
• Work with other developers to develop Technical Designs and deliver robust components as per the Functional Requirements Document.
• Conduct and participate in peer reviews for Business requirements, Functional Requirements and code.
• Understand and document optimal configuration for database and application servers to ensure high performance and availability.
• Understand and participate in executing disaster recovery plans for production systems
• Coordinate and interact with other development and infrastructure groups.
• Liaise with the businesses to document business and functional requirements.
• Coordinate System Integration Testing and participate in User Acceptance Testing.
• Quickly respond to customer inquiries during regular business hours.
• Comply with mandated policies and procedures and contribute in procedural improvements.
• Accurately estimate effort for assigned tasks and consistently meet commitments.
Job Requirements:
• Extensive hands on experience with a minimum of 6-8 years in designing and developing server-side transaction processing applications using Java, JDBC, EJB, JNDI , Java Script, Servlets and JMS
• Knowledge of Capital markets products, trade life cycle and confirmations.(800,000 trade per day)
• Experience with DOM, XML/XSLT
• Strong Sybase/Oracle SQL skills with special emphasis on data modeling and query optimization.
• Familiarity and experience with Eclipse, Clearcase/CVS /ANT, Struts for building and testing framework.
• Knowledge of architectural and design patterns.
• Experience developing in UNIX server environments.
• Experience with BEA WebLogic Server. Would look at someone with Webphere
• Applicable University Degree or equivalent experience in software development.
• Strong communication (oral and written), analytical skills, and time management skills.
• Excellent Analytical skills required to facilitate strategic planning and solve tactical technical and business problems.
• Adaptable, flexible, diplomatic, innovative and mature personality.
• Must have proven capability of leading a team of 2-5 developers.
• Must be able to multitask and work under pressure. |
