Manager, Quality Assurance and Testing
The Manager, Quality Assurance and Testing requires an individual with proven management experience in a Software Testing - Quality Assurance (QA) environment. The individual is responsible for the QA and testing of various applications within AGF, in support of projects and releases, aligning with delivery dates and available QA resources. This position is also responsible for developing, maintaining, and monitoring standardized QA processes and artifacts. QA testing must ensure that testing quality standards and user requirements are met, to maximize the benefit of business investments in IT initiatives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Management, oversight, and mentoring of QA Supervisor and team of Quality Assurance Testers.
• Work with Project Managers and Release Managers to ensure that test timelines and resources are aligned to plans, and that testing and quality assurance is adequately represented and considered throughout all phases of the Project Management and Release Management lifecycles.
• Liaise with other business and technology teams to ensure that testing aligns to requirements.
• Ensure the appropriate test scope is applied for Technical and Functional Sanity tests, System Integration, Regression, Disaster Recovery, Technical Upgrades, Dry Run and Automated tests.
• Ensure technical documentation and requirements are aligned to test coverage.
• Ensure Test Strategies and Plans are developed, with appropriate test coverage for projects and releases.
• Responsible for the monitoring and reporting on test metrics for projects and releases.
• Ensure that test issues/defects are documented, escalated and prioritized as encountered, and that appropriate processes are in place for the monitoring of defect resolution.
• Provide support to business users for UAT, which may include test planning and monitoring.
• Create, maintain and monitor Quality Testing Standards and templates.
• Review and standardize the Testing Issues Escalation process that is being used.
• Provide overall support to the QA Supervisor and QA team, including: overtime, vacation and illness, resource requirements, setting performance objectives, performance appraisal, training plans (IDP - Individual Development Plans.).
• Support of automated test tool implementation, maintenance and ongoing usage.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in education, computer science or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5-7 years QA experience at the Management level, including direct people management.
• 5-7 years direct QA experience, including the development, execution and reporting of Test Plans, Strategies, Scripts and Metrics, as well as experience in applying and monitoring QA principles and best practices
• 5-7 years Financial Services industry experience
• Nice to have experience with automated testing
• Nice to have experience with Audit
