IT Global Desktop Administrator -ENTERPRISE
Toronto
The Toronto team requires a star team-player in the role of IT Global Desktop Administrator to work with the team in maintaining the infrastructure for the different technology services provided by IT. You have an in-depth knowledge of PC operation systems and configuration, installations/upgrades techniques, application management, problem identification and resolution. Experience with different front and back office systems would be a valuable asset.
You are professional, positive, committed to results, readily develop a good rapport with your internal customers and can effectively function in a very fast-paced work environment.
Specifically, you will be responsible for:
• Managing a Microsoft knowledge worker environment; Windows desktop OS including XP/Vista/7 with various business applications.
• Designing system images for hardware agnostic deployment and centralized application deployment/management; experience with Ghost, Altiris, System Center, SMS, MDOP or equivalent.
• Providing Second-Level PC network and technical support to users on routine or complex problems on all desktop and server application issues.
• Installing and configuring client groupware applications including the Microsoft Office 2003/2007/2010 suite in an Exchange 2007/2010 email environment.
• Managing IT ticket queue and follow the sun support escalations with global desktop team working within established procedures and methods; prioritizing user requests utilizing based on urgency/criticality and working towards prompt resolution.
• Identifying required efficiencies for process and systems to improve desktop support team’s productivity and capabilities to support a global user base.
• Interfacing with outside vendors providing network, software, and hardware support.
• Maintaining hardware inventory, asset database and systems documentation.
• Working with Senior Systems Administrator and reporting directly to the Enterprise IT Manager.
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
• Degree/diploma in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in a technical support or customer service environment supporting users in different timezones.
• At least 2 years of experience with Server Hardware knowledge/troubleshooting and 5 years of equivalent for Desktop Hardware.
• Networking knowledge: TCP/IP protocol, routing, configure DNS, security, routers, switches, firewalls and general troubleshooting.
• Enterprise Back-up and restore management.
• Experience with virtualized platforms; VMware, Microsoft Hyper-V, Xen, etc.
• Microsoft, Cisco and A+ certifications are considered assets.
• Excellent communication, written and interpersonal skills.
• Superior problem solving and troubleshooting ability.
• Prioritization, organization and ability to work independently in a high paced environment.
• Commitment to customer satisfaction through planning follow-up.
