Customer Focused - Technical Support Specialist
We have an outstanding career opportunity located in our Toronto office for a:
Technical Support Specialist
You will provide outstanding customer service while working with end users to quickly and effectively resolve computer hardware/software problems or identify the group responsible for resolution.
Key Responsibilities:
Take ownership of user problems and be pro-active when dealing with user issues
Upgrade and/or deploy new hardware/software to end users
Maintain software imaging and remote access solution for hardware deployments
Pro-actively maintain workstation hardware and keep current with new models and trends
Procure IT software and hardware
Maintain toner supplies and contact vendors for repair and maintenance
Reset user passwords and maintain active directory profiles
Maintain computer accounts in active directory
Assist in various IT projects
Assist in maintaining a KB/FAQ environment
Support users in the use of Computer related equipment by providing necessary training and advice
Assist in server deployment, maintenance and backup
The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:
Post-secondary education in Computers/IT
3-5 years relevant experience in a technical support role
Must be familiar with all Windows operating systems, MS Office and Internet Explorer
A+ certification
MCP certification an asset
Excellent oral and written communication, customer service and problem solving skills
Excellent task management skills, to keep track of outstanding issues
Strong knowledge of Microsoft software environment
Networking and server knowledge an asset
Desire to learn new technology and expand responsibilities
