SharePoint / Web Developer (IT Specialist)
Reporting to the Manager, Web and Portal Technology, the IT Specialist will primarily be responsible for developing and implementing web and portal projects in support of a variety of CAMH web and portal sites and initiatives. The successful candidate will work with business analysts, project managers and other developers to develop technical requirements, and identify, develop, test and support solutions. He or she will support a workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork and complies with all applicable health and safety and regulatory and legislative requirements. The IT specialist will also perform other IT related duties as assigned by his/her manager. The position is located at the Queen Street site.
Skills: The successful candidate will possess a university degree, preferably in a computer-related field, or equivalent working experience. The person will have in-depth knowledge and expertise in HTML, XHTML, CSS, Javascript, ASP.NET, XML, XSL, SharePoint 2007, Visual Studio 2005, PHP, and Microsoft SQL. The person will have 2-4 years working experience customizing, deploying, implementing and developing complex web and SharePoint solutions (applicants must be prepared to provide URLs or other examples of development work utilizing the aforementioned expertise). The candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills and strong and effective communication skills. The individual will be detail-oriented, well-organized, a self-starter, and able to work independently. Excellent troubleshooting skills and creative approaches to problem resolution are a must. The candidate must have very strong customer service skills, have experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment and must work effectively in a wide range of settings with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Experience with usability, user centred design (UCD) and multiple development methodologies is considered a strong asset. Bilingualism (French/English) is also considered an asset.
Please Note: This full-time, 12 month contract position is part of the OPSEU Bargaining Unit, and has the potential for extension beyond 1 year. |
