POSITION SUMMARY

The successful candidate will be a member of the Memory Development Team, which is responsible for integration and validation of all the memory components and interfaces on RIM's platforms. As part of the team, the candidate will work with a software designer to integrate new memory types into RIM's platform and determine how they can best be used in RIM's future products.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Work with memory suppliers to refine feature definition, solve performance issues and debug issues.
• Design analysis to ensure high level requirements are met by the design.
• Create reference schematics and layout guidelines.
• Test plan definition, execution and results analysis.
• Memory Platform documentation

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
• 4+ Years of relevant experience; Bachelor's degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Equivalent
• Excellent hardware and system debugging skills
• Experience working with Flash memory (NOR, NAND, SD, eMMC or PCM)
• Proficient in the use of oscilloscopes, temperature chambers, digital power supplies and logic analyzers. As well as, the automated control and monitoring of this equipment
• Experience reviewing memory component specifications and design schematics
• Experience writing design documentation, test specifications and test reports
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative, responsibility and leadership in a team environment
• Detail oriented and dependable
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong multitasking skills with the ability to quickly adapt to new situations and constraints

ADDITIONAL ASSETS
• Experience performing statistical analysis related to component reliability.
• Understanding of flash memory device physics.
• Ability to read and debug embedded software written in C.
• Experience with ARM based and/or Qualcomm processors.
• Experience within the wireless or telecommunications sector.
• Experience with the design and manufacture of handheld products.
