POSITION SUMMARY
We are expanding our development team to enhance the relational database management system (DBMS) used by BlackBerry application developers. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work on the design, implementation and optimization of the database system used on the BlackBerry platform. This is a position with very high visibility and the potential for great impact.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Development (design, implementation, debugging) of the database management system (DBMS) on the BlackBerry
• Optimizing the DBMS to work with other parts of the BlackBerry environment
• Working with quality assurance teams to develop comprehensive tests
• Production of design documentation
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
• Undergraduate degree in Software Engineering/Computer Science/Computer Engineering
• Relational database and SQL expert; experience with optimizing database systems for embedded environments
• Candidate should have 5 - 7 years C/C++ software development skills of outstanding quality; preferably on a mobile or embedded platform
• Ability to solve difficult problems and work with multiple teams simultaneously
ADDITIONAL ASSETS
• Java development; preferably on a mobile or embedded platform
• Experience with SQLite considered an asset for this role
• Familiar with BlackBerry third-party application development
