Our Opportunity
Pöyry Management Consulting is currently looking for a Senior .NET Developer / Architect for our Oakville Ontario office.
Reporting to the Director of Product Development, the Senior Developer / Architect is part of a core team composed of developers, system engineers, analysts, testers and project managers responsible for strategy, architecture and engineering of Pöyry’s globally deployed Performance Reporting System.
The Senior Developer / Architect is the leader and critical player responsible for applying technologies such as Visual Studio Team System, Silverlight, SQL Server and components and services that increase operational agility, quality of our end product and improved client performance. The architect collaborates with all teams to define, promote and implement the technology & system roadmaps as well as developing plans to adopt and implement new technology. This position plays a critical role in the communication and gaining buy-in across the consulting organization and developing and measuring system impact.
The Job
The Senior Developer / Architect will work with the latest Microsoft Software Development tools to enhance our management reporting system. We envision this qualified person will work on new initiatives relating to our web enabled reporting software and mobile device data collection and distribution services.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Establish the vision, strategy and roadmaps that align with business strategies and priorities for Performance Reporting System globally
• As part of a community of stakeholders, drive innovation to meet unmet business needs; taking an idea through the stages of innovation and adoption
• Design and develop new system application scope; features & functions; in keeping with overall vision of the system
• Plan and conduct new technology evaluations to determine application solutions based on business requirements and makes recommendations for improvement of technology, operational capability, reliability and performance
• Define and maintain technology standards
• Partner with key stakeholders to influence future product requirements and enhancements to address business needs
• Closely collaborate with application peers on application architecture, solutions and approaches and aligning both application functionality and industry client requirements
• Create and present architectures and solutions to Senior management to gain buy-in and approvals
Candidate must have proven track record in performing in the responsibilities outlined and successful delivery and implementation of architectural solutions
As the qualified candidate you possess:
• Computer Engineering / Computer Science degree or equivalent experience preferred
• Significant and appropriate experience in an software engineering / development role
• Ability to travel for possible North American and International project requirements
