Senior Systems Architect
The Senior Systems Architect is accountable for designing efficient and reusable state of the art technical design solutions, which serve as foundations for implementing sophisticated product requirements for the wealth management market segment.
You establish and maintain a defined system architecture discipline in line with existing company development methodology.
You work with third party tool/plug-in vendors to understand and validate the vendor technical architectures that ensure alignment with the company integration standards or, at minimum, are well understood by Team Members and have the necessary approvals and support from executive team.
You identify opportunities to improve business processes by building on existing/new technologies and applications.
You work with other groups, to develop and maintain an infrastructure and system roadmap that provides reduced overall complexity and increased cost efficiency.
Working with a team, you define and document application architecture, product development standards, design concepts and patterns.
Knowledge and Experience
* B.Sc./M.Sc. in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
* Java Technology Certification
* A minimum of 7 years of architecture centric work related experience
* Working knowledge designing relational database and domain object models
* Java Application Servers: JBoss, Websphere, Oracle, WebLogic
* Hands on Java technology experience with EE5 stack: EJB3, JSF, JCP
* Understanding SOA, ESB, BPM, Web Services standards
* Effective and engaging communication of design solutions to internal and external audiences
* Able to determine sustainable solutions in a short timeframe with the highest degree quality and maximizing existing internal and/or external resources and knowledge
* In depth understanding of the modern technologies and trends, development patterns and methodologies
* Knowledge of Canadian Investment Industry, Mutual Funds or Securities processing
* Knowledge in RUP (Agile) methodology
* High availability infrastructure: clusters, load balancers, fail-over, host replication
* Intel/AMD based server hardware and standard management tools
* Database Management Systems: MS SQLServer 2000/2005/2008, IBM DB2, MySQL, Oracle
* Operating Systems: Windows 2000/2003, Linux
* Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Citrix XenServer, MS Hyper-V)
