SUMMARY OF POSITION:
This position is an integral part of the customer service department possessing expertise in custom control panels, wiring diagrams, design of control, automation and instrumentation systems, PLC
and Human Machine Interface (HMI) programming, power(utility) distribution systems, start-up and performance testing of equipment. The role regularly troubleshoots electrical issues, relating to both hardware and software and requires effective communication to all involved parties. You will coordinate and interact with Engineering, Manufacturing and Service Departments as well as internal
and external customers.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Position general responsibilities are as follows:
• Actively support all related trades across North America, including Canadian and US field
sales, dealers and consultant base
• Works with representatives and consultants during the concept & design phase to modify
product configuration /add to or clarify drawings
• Confers with customers and engineers to assess equipment needs and to determine system
requirements
• Responds to regional representatives’ escalations in a prompt and business like manner, handling inquiries and providing advise as requested to customers
• Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer requirements, to promote the sale of company products, and to provide sales support.
• Conducts quality control review, testing, troubleshooting of service issues and diagnostic of
problems with installed equipment via telephone or occasional field trips
• Assist in technical training sessions that explain products or services to customers, service technicians and engineers as needed.
• Prepare electrical bill of materials for manufacturing
• Handle post-sales issues and inquiries relating to warranty and parts, providing technical
assistance
• Provide technical and non-technical support and services to clients or other staff members regarding the use, operation, and maintenance of equipment.
• Ensures close follow-up on projects
• Upkeeps records and documentation as required
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is accomplished in an office setting and on the manufacturing floor.
Position will interact with associates at all levels, contractors, suppliers, consultants and customers.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
• Computer Literate (MS Office –Excel, Word, Outlook), and proficient with AutoCAD
• Great interpersonal, communication and project/time management skills
• Detail Oriented and Organized
• Display a high degree of professionalism and tact
• Superior troubleshooting / problem solving skills
• Electrical design experience with relay logic, PLC controllers, HMI, AC drives and power distribution design – LV
• Fluent in spoken and written English
• Knowledge of HVAC and food service would be an asset
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• Minimum college diploma and 3 years of hands on experience
• Hands on experience in troubleshooting and installation of electrical systems |
