Description:
Our client is one of the world leaders in the design, manufacturing and marketing of microprocessor solutions for the computing, communications and consumer electronics markets. These solutions include embedded microprocessors for personal connectivity devices and other consumer markets. They currently have a need for a Prototype Build Coordinator.


As a Prototype Build Coordinator, you will be in charge of managing the prototype builds of new, leading-edge products in a fast paced environment. Your analytical problem-solving skills and process-based thinking are key tools that you will use to accelerate schedules and find ways to help teams work together. You will be required to make adjustments to prototyping plans in order to ensure smooth execution without sacrificing technological leadership and quality. This position gives you the opportunity to work with many teams in the company from software and hardware engineers, to production planners, to marketing and sales, to the manufacturing floor. You will be exposed to the incredible world of Computing & 3D Graphics to learn how a piece of silicon is transformed into a cutting edge computing solution.


Key Responsibilities:


Coordinate prototype board manufacturing requirements with internal manufacturing line or external contract manufacturer. This includes negotiating for shared resources, monitoring material availability, providing engineering and schedule data, and ensuring reporting deliverables are met.


Identify areas of schedule risk and work with functional departments to provide material, technical, and logistical solutions to mitigate risks


Communicate project status to customers and management


Use internal software tools to manage and document builds and to arrange and track distribution


Coordinate the efforts of various people across teams to produce outstanding results


Always be aware of the larger strategic picture and make tactical steps to achieve these goals


Develop and implement new processes to improve the New Product Introduction (NPI) cycle


Multi-task amongst multiple high-priority projects


Requirements:



APICS certification or strong materials management background recommended


Electronics Contract Manufacturing experience an asset


Leadership skills (previous project management experience would be an asset)


Communication / Presentation Skills and confidence


Ability to work in a fast-paced multi-tasking environment


Knowledge of MS Excel and Project


Database experience an asset


Understanding of computer architecture an asset


Organizational skills
