Websphere Project Manager
The Project Leader II will be responsible for overseeing the upgrade to Websphere from 5.1 to either 6.1 or 7.0. This role will supervise 2 developers and oversee resources from other discipline and subcontractors. This individual must have some PM abiliities and people manager with the ability to support developers and be able to transfer knowledge to jr developers. This individual may have some element to deployment strategy, deployment planning and pulling details together.
The Websphere Migration project requires a Project Leader II who has experience with Websphere upgrade and it would be good to have experience in EasyWeb, Easyweb Wireless, Web Business Banking and Bill Payments to be able to interact with developers.
Leading a project team in delivering a portion or segment of a solution associated with a larger, complex project/solution Performance responsibility for their portion of the project including managing scope, cost, schedule and resourcing.
• Act as technical lead to define development specifications, technical requirements, system performance objectives and identify system modifications required to meet performance objectives. Identify dependencies and risks, ensuring they are effectively managed.
• Contribute to the development of project plans by providing input to charter, estimates, cost/benefits analysis, time line estimates, scope and control and manage project initiatives by directing assigned resources, communicating project status, and providing timely escalation of issues.
• Comply with the system development life cycle (SDLC) and project management (PMLC) methodologies.
• Define, deliver and maintain systems and technical infrastructure to support clients and applications by following standards, policies and procedures in compliance with IT Disaster Recovery Plan.
• Create or assist in establishing requirement, design and testing documentation. Lead technical walkthrough sessions. Assess application readiness for deployment.
• Provide technical leadership to the team and business partners by sharing information, knowledge and lessons learned on a regular basis.
