Associate Manager - Travel Accounting
This positions primary focus will be to effectively manage the daily operations of the accounts payable/quality assurance staff of 6 within the Travel Services group. Key responsibilities include staff mentoring/development, ensure accurate/timely processing of all travel vendor payments & reconciliations, oversee/implement controls financial compliance controls, internal policies & procedures and assist with travel initiatives & maintain administration functions of travel financial system.
Responsibilities
-Review & approve all travel supplier payments and cheque requisitions;
-Oversee & approve all accounts payable disbursements, vendor adjustments, monthend reconciliations
-Ensure integrity of travel data/content flow from front office reservation system into back office financial system
-Proactively review, maintain and implement internal policies and procedures as business change requires; work closely with internal support groups to maintain service level agreements
-Review / enforce financial & sox compliance controls, work with internal & external audit teams
-Prepare and submit all travel register payments and financial filings for BC, Quebec, IATA, TICO; ensure all regulation timelines are met and adheared to
-Review all subledger & general ledger balances; assist with financial statement review reporting & monthend/yearend close
-Assist with financial travel system administration & customizations for continuous improvement of process efficiencies for Finance team
Qualifications
-Must have min 5 years working in travel accounting back office environment
-Must have min 3 yrs proficient Sabre knowledge
-Strong supervisory skills - min 5 years experience
-Must have excellent organizational & time management skills; ability to work under pressure
-Detail oriented, strong analytical skills
-Self Starter, possesses strong initiative
-Post secondary education in Accounting/Finance
-Enrolment in an accredited accounting program (CGA, CMA) an asset
