Sr Java Developer/Architect
We are currently looking for a Senior Java Developer/Architect who will run a review of our client's tax application, take a very close look at its design, implementation, and operational model, identify issues, propose solutions and lead their implementation.
The review must not only look at the tax application from a technology perspective:
- infrastructure, failover, redundancy
- identify single point of failures, and propose solutions
- performances, monitoring,
- backups,
- maintenance, software versions
- turnovers, builds and deployment processes
- synchronization and cross-system job scheduling
- analyze latest outages, identify recurring themes and address the root causes
- what environments do we have versus what do we need ?
but also from an application perspective:
- which logic belongs to the tax application versus other systems ?
- what about the logic split between the tax withholding & tax reporting ?
- what about the complexity level of some of the implementation ?
- what about the logic split between the application server and the database ?
Skills Required
- have previous experience in Systems Integration
- have previous experience in Solution Architecture and SOA
- have experience in heavy volume, heavy load systems
- have previous experience in IT Support & Operations
- know MQSeries
- know Java 1.6 & the different frameworks available (Spring, Hibernate, …)
- have previously performed Java code reviews
- have previously performed solution and design reviews
- know design best practices
- have leadership skills required to manage the solution implementation
