Web Developer, Much Interactive, CEP723M
• Building robust, extensible and extremely efficient C# .Net back-end Internet applications for Canada’s #1 youth oriented web platform
• Building and extending database elements (MS SQL 2000 and 2005)
• Maintaining and replacing legacy ASP code (VBScript)
• Maintaining and extending custom C# CMS applications
• Helping develop, update and maintain scripts that manage and process XML feed data
• Developing tools that integrate seamlessly and efficiently with existing HTML documents, .Net controls, and AJAX and Flash applicants
• Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
• An obvious passion for music, pop culture and youth culture;
• Three years enterprise production experience in C# .NET and MS SQL;
• Extensive experience developing user-friendly, forms-based web applications;
• Experience processing input XML feeds and producing valid XHTML and XML output;
• Experience with extremely a high volume environment an asset;
• Production experience in other platforms and other web server languages such as PHP / MySQL an asset;
• Experience with XSLT an asset;
• A firm understanding of XHTML, the request-response lifecycle, caching strategies;
• Some practical experience with advanced JavaScript;
• Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Visual Studio, Microsoft SQL Server and IIS;
• A passion for the social web, preferably with experience with web services, facebook apps and utilizing open source initiatives whenever possible such as Wordpress, Google Maps etc.
• Well organized with good communication skills, patience and an ability to juggle multiple projects with conflicting priorities
