SOLUTIONS MANAGER
We are a small Toronto based software company in the mobile logistics space providing GPS cum Wireless based dispatch solutions for the transportation sector. We market our solutions both in Canada and the U.S. and are currently working with several leading telecom providers.
To support an U.S growth opportunity, we are looking for a full-time “Solutions Manager” based in Toronto. The company offers an entrepreneurial environment with significant learning and growth opportunities for the right candidate.
Job Description
Work closely with the CIO (Chief Solutions Architect) to help develop/test/debug applications using .Net/MS SQL/Apache/Tomcat and various mapping applications on Windows Server platform.
Develop a good understanding of all hardware and software used by the Company.
Help provide 24/7 3rd level (application support) to customers.
Help maintain the Company’s applications at all times.
Create and maintain appropriate documentation for the applications.
Technical Skills
Minimum 5-7 years of .Net/MS SQL experience including development, testing and application support.
Previous hands on experience with server, network, firewall and VPN set up
Some knowledge working with Apache/Tomcat would be useful but is not mandatory.
Personal Skills
Excellent oral and written communication in English is an essential pre-requisite.
Good phone skills
Ability to work independently.
Good listening skills
Not a clock-watcher
Training & Career Opportunities
The selected candidate would be put through a 4 week training program covering applications, hardware, environment, etc. However, the candidate has to possess the necessary technical skills without which training will not be possible. The Company is poised for growth and offers excellent long term opportunities and on-the-job training in the fast growing mobile applications space.
Compensation
Compensation is expected to range between $ 50 K to $ 60 K per annum. Additionally, the company is putting together a long term incentive plan for key employees and expects to offer this in the near future.
