Senior Application Developer
Job Profile: Senior Application Developer
Reports to:Project Team Lead for current project
Location:Toronto
Description
We are seeking a talented senior programmer with strong C#, relational database and OO programming skills. You will perform object oriented development and ongoing enhancement as a member of the development team; you will be involved in building and enhancing a large financial application in production. The application involves a variety of technologies built on the Microsoft platform. You must be a self-starter and be able to work autonomously and take initiative.
Must Have Skills
6+ years of C# WinForm/Web using all versions of the .NET Framework
Deep understanding of how to work effectively with the framework
Strong OOD/OOP experience
2+ years of database application development
Solid GUI development experience
Nice to Have Skills
Experience with XBRL is an asset
Experience writing applications that interact with Microsoft Office, (especially with Word and Excel) is a strong plus
Experience with 3rd party components such as Aspose, DXperience and Infragistics is a strong plus
Accounting experience and knowledge is a strong plus
Oracle experience is a strong plus
Experience with WPF/WCF/SOA
Experience with ADO.NET Entity Framework is definitely a plus
Familiarity with OLAP databases such as Essbase and Microsoft Analysis Services
Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent work experience
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Superior organizational, problem solving, and time management abilities
Passionate about providing solutions to challenging technical problems
Experience and interest in being a mentor or lead
