This entry-level position would expose the successful candidate to logistics. Experience in the transportation industry is not necessary. However, the desire to learn and contribute to a team environment is essential.

JOB SUMMARY

The primary role of the Tracking and Tracing Representative is to oversee a load from the time it is picked up until the time it is delivered by tracing the load status on a daily basis to ensure that the customer need is met or exceeded. The incumbent proactively communicates the load status in a responsive, effective manner and works to resolve any issues in a combined effort with other teams, the customer and the supplier.

Duties and Responsibilities
•Call carriers and trace each load from pick-up to delivery; update the Wheels system; collect weights, pieces and trailer numbers where required.
•Provide booking-specific information to the Operations Team for the Sales Representatives and Customer Representatives to effectively manage the customer account. Update customer profiles as needed.
•Notify customers requiring daily updates on load status.
•Maintain customer-specific reports.
•Initiate corrective action by notifying shippers and consignees of delays or problems affecting the scheduled delivery time and complete Performance Reports.
•Proactively communicate with Order Fulfillment and Customer Service teams on load status and issues in a timely manner to ensure customer satisfaction.
•Problem-solve as required.

QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
•Diploma / degree in Business, International Trade, International Business.
•Team player with a desire to learn about and become a part of the transportation industry.
•Competent PC skills – Microsoft Office – especially Excel and Word in order to create spreadsheets and reports. Good keyboarding skills.
•Strong communication and customer service skills.
•Ability to think in a common sense manner to solve problems and react to issues.
•Able to communicate clearly and concisely, especially over the phone, to customers and carriers and effectively in person to members of the team.
•Comprehensive knowledge of North American geography.
