Our client a major force in the insurance industry is currently searching for the following:
JOB DESCRIPTION
Manages the branch's P & C commercial lines portfolio to achieve profitability and growth through underwriting. Ensures adherence to corporate underwriting standards and procedures. Develops, implements, and monitors territory premiums, losses, and direct expense targets as outlined in goal documents.
Directs the branch's commercial lines Property and Casualty underwriting function and achieves a profitable portfolio of business by planning, organizing, directing, controlling, and auditing the development of Property and Casualty commercial lines business in accordance with Company practices, rates, and philosophy.
Functions as a key relationship manager with the branch's brokers with respect to the P & C C/L book of business. Develops and manages effective working relationships with brokers, including product presentations. Conducts broker audits, reviews potential portfolio transfers and acquisitions, and takes appropriate action. .
Acts as the Branch's underwriting authority on issues related to risk pricing, selection, and retention governed by the parameters of the corporate underwriting philosophy. Coaches underwriters on complex and exceptional risks and approves over line risks from reporting staff. Assists staff with complex and problem files requiring authorization.
University degree or combination of experience and education and a CIP or FCIP as well as progressive experience in commercial lines and supervision of staff
