Technical Writer
As our Knowledge Base Technical Writer, you will research, write and publish technical articles on our client's knowledge base web site. The articles will address practical issues and questions Our client's customers and prospects have in understanding and using our client's products and technologies. The articles will include a mix of short articles for our client's Knowledge Base and longer how-to, cookbook, and best practices articles, and possibly a small number of more conceptual articles.
Responsibilities
o Research and write Knowledge Base articles
o Research and write how-to, cookbook, and best practices articles
o Publish completed articles to our client's Knowledge Base web site
o Identify article topics, based on feedback from Support and our client's community
Requirements
o BA/BS in CS or Engineering or equivalent.
o 3-5 years experience in technical writing in a high tech company.
o Linux and Windows experience.
o A passion for operating system and virtual infrastructure technologies.
o Proven ability to discuss and research operating system and system administration concepts and procedures with software and support engineers.
o Technical proficiency with Linux and Windows system administration, including knowledge of networking and storage issues for server systems.
o Experience writing technical papers describing operating system and/or system administration problems and answers, installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and best practices.
o Ability to write clear and concise written documents.
o Ability to work independently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
o Experience in HTML and FrameMaker.
