Sr Unix administrator
A Sr. Unix System Administrator for an outstanding contract to hire opportunity with a retailer firm based in Downtown Toronto. Skills required: -Security, administration, capacity planning, problem determination experience -Solid TCP/IP, DNS, NFS, SMTP, X Window, Printing experience -Intranet and Internet implementation experience -Solid understanding of networking communications, protocols and designs -Excellent communication and creativity skills -Work independently as well as in a team -Shell scripting background such as: Korn, Perl or C -Experience supporting or understanding databases such as Oracle -Experience with enterprise level backup system -Veritas experience (Volume Manager and NetBackup) Other desirable skills will include: -Dell/EMC SAN Experience -LAN/WAN networking equipment such as routers, switches, firewalls, etc. -Understanding UNIX and Microsoft integration issues -Experience with Job scheduling programs such as Control-M, or AutoSys -Omniback II experience -Bind - DNS service for Unix
In order to qualify for this position the candidate must have: -5 or more years administering Unix environment. -Multi platform experience (Solaris, AIX, Linux) in the design and implementation of Unix servers in networked environment
