A/V Technical Specialist
The role of the Technical Specialist is to provide pre-sales services such as design and quote preparation and post sales technical expertise, with regards to installation project management.
Pre-sales activities:
- Meet current clients in order to determine the most appropriate changes or additions that should be made to their systems
- Performing site-surveys
- Attend meetings with potential clients and Sales Representatives in order to provide technical advice and expertise
- Design audio-visual solutions based on customer requirements
- Participate in meetings and collect technical information from architects, designers, general contractors and sub-contractors involved in projects
Proposal preparations:
- Research products available on the market
- Prepare worksheet detailing the types of equipment, as well as the environment requirements
- Draft technical component of proposals ("Scope of Work")
- Assist in solution description meetings
Project management:
- Assist with project planning, and create timetables and schedules
- Monitor the quality of work of sub-contractors and of Installation Technician
- Review and follow up on schedules regularly
- Design the control system requirements based on customer requirements
- Coordinate equipment assembly
- Perform tests on equipment
- Provide user training
- Perform final system check-out and project sign-off
Execute additional related duties:
- Train and support new technical employees
- Respond to inquiries from Sales Representatives
- Performing remote and on-site customer support
- Perform additional tasks upon request
Qualifications:
DEC in Electronics
8 years experience in a similar position within the Videoconferencing industry
Experience in installing videoconferencing equipment and systems
Experience in programming control systems
Strong customer service orientation
Knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook, Visio and AutoCAD
Manual dexterity
Technical Certification(s) (asset)
