Intermediate Programmer/ Analyst
The Intermediate Programmer/ Analyst participates in IT related software development projects involving the utilization of both internal and external resources in the areas of: requirements definition, systems development, system validation/testing, and systems documentation.
These projects are centered on the company’s membership management and web services solutions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
I. General Business Knowledge:
a. To acquire a high level of awareness and understanding of the business operations, plans, opportunities and problems of the company’s operations.
II. Systems Development:
a. Contributes to and participates in the development and on-going maintenance of IT systems.
b. Assists with and participates in the implementation of new systems.
c. Assists in the planning and scheduling of related tasks.
d. Maintains technical competence and participates in professional development.
e. Follows company standards, procedures and methodologies.
III. Communications:
a. To ensure that the user’s interests and requirements are fully represented during the development process and that internal company resources are kept advised of the development project’s status.
IV. Skill Set Requirements:
a. Strong interpersonal skills required to interact effectively at all levels of the organization.
b. An ability to adapt quickly to situations and to focus on key opportunities and problems.
c. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
d. Detailed knowledge of the following technical environments:
i. SQL Server 2005
ii. Crystal Reports – version 8 – moving to 11.
iii. Visual Basic Version 6
iv. VB.net – studio 2005
v. Experience installing packaged software.
vi. Web design standards and principles, HTML, CSS, XML, Adobe products suite, Ecommerce.
e. Knowledge of club membership management or retail management systems and web site management environments.
