Full-Time I.T. Support Technician

Rostie Tech Rescue is looking an experienced IT Support Technician with strong customer service skills who will offer knowledgeable and courteous tech-support to both staff and clients. Our offices are located in Downtown, Toronto, and near the Airport in Mississauga. This position will primarily be out of our Downtown office, with occasional travel to our Mississauga office required. Common Tasks:
• Email issues
• Desktop/Laptop support
• Printers
• Cabling
• Mobile devices + peripherals
• 3rd party software
• AV equipment
• Provide instructions/tutorials
• Co-ordinate IT/AV support to Admin team for staff and customer meetings
• Support IT Administrator on all system, storage, and network issues
• Configure, install, and support equipment in all elements of IT infrastructure
• Perform necessary server and end-user upgrades to the operating systems
• Physically move technology (running cabling, working on and below counters and desks and transporting equipment)
• Repair and maintain computer hardware
• Identify and escalate problem trends and possible solutions to senior technicians
• Perform backups of servers and workstations
• Perform data recoveries.

Requirements for this position include:

• On and off site end-user support
• Current Ontario driver license
• Ability to work irregular hours as required
• Ability to o follow established IT standards and policies
• Maintaining knowledge of changing technologies
• Ability to ensure prompt, efficient and courteous communication.

Skills:
Successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of the following:
• Routers, switches, fire-walls, print servers
• T1, Adsl, ISDN, (Pri, Bri)
• Windows 2003 server based networks including Active directory
• IP, TCP/IP, VPN, DNS,
• TV,VCR, LCD, Home Stereo
• Cat 3, 5, 6 Voice and data cabling
• All current Microsoft operating systems
• Microsoft windows 2003 Terminal Services

Additional software experience on the following is an asset:
Simply accounting, Merak Mail server, Lotus notes, Microsoft Outlook, Visio, Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Linux,
