Sr. Quality Assurance Analyst
Purpose of Position:
Open Text needs a talented Senior Quality Assurance Analyst to help test new software components and build regression suites. We are looking for a bright individual who is comfortable with today's high-tech software and can work in a team environment to ensure the highest possible quality standard for our software.
The QA position will focus on the creation of test procedures, scenarios and cases for our ECM suite of products. You will be exposed to a variety of testing methodologies and technologies, including black box, white box, web interface verification, API conformance testing, and automation tools.
This position will also be expected to take a leadership role, in helping guide and direct the QA team. Reporting to the QA manager, this position will assist in job assignment, project management, and mentoring new employees.
4 POSITIONS AVAILABLE
Primary Duties:
• Design and maintain test plans scenarios and cases
• Report software defects
• Participate in the software development process from design to release
• Provide analysis and optimization of existing testing methodologies
• Provide leadership and support to other quality assurance analysts
• Assist with coordination and management of the team
• Receive direction from the quality assurance manager
• Review requirements, functional specifications, and technical specifications with respect to correctness, consistency, comprehensiveness and testability
• Implement test strategy
• Define and execute test plans and test cases
• Report test results and defects found during testing
• Provide reports on product quality and quality risks
• Consult development with respect to the implementation of software quality assurance measures during the whole software development life cycle
• Take over other responsibilities as assigned
Position Requirements
Skills and Knowledge:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Familiar with computer software quality standards (ISO, IEEE)
• Knowledge of various software testing methods (Regression, Load/Stress, Code Coverage Analysis, Black/White box testing, Acceptance, Performance)
• Knowledge of various operating systems (Windows 2003, XP, Linux, Solaris)
• Knowledge of relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server)
• Good analytical and organizational skills
• Proficient in web technologies, specifically: HTML, Perl, JavaScript
• Good inter-personal skills
• Experience with Accounts Payable Solutions a plus
• Experience with JD Edwards and/or PeopleSoft a plus
• Knowledge of SharePoint a plus
Academic:
•The position requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
