Middleware Specialist

Position Title: MIDDLEWARE SPECIALIST
Location: TORONTO, ON
Reports To: MANAGER, REMOTE SERVER MANAGEMENT
Description: The incumbent will be involved in support, administration and performance tuning of Middleware products.
Responsibilities:
· Manage customers' web and application server infrastructure technologies
· Provide after-hours support as part of an on-call rotation
· Work overtime from time to time, including evenings, weekends and holidays
Qualifications:
1. Working experience with Java/J2EE environments, performance tuning, including in-depth experience in deep level support, administration, and performance tuning of Middleware software: J2EE application servers (such as Weblogic Server/Portal/Integration, Websphere AS) and Web servers (such as SunOne Web Server, Apache/IHS)
2. Experience with Web Architecture
3. Experience with WebSphere Application Server
4. Experience with WebSphere Portal
5. Experience with Security Technology (Digital Certificates, LDAP, PKI, etc.)
6. Intimate knowledge of the IBM WebSphere family of products
7. Proficiency in performance analysis and tuning for middleware applications
8. Strong Administration skills (including install/configure/tune/troubleshoot) in middleware products
9. Experience with Standard J2EE Application Architectures & Frameworks
10. Excellent knowledge of UNIX operating systems
11. Knowledge of UNIX scripting

1. Knowledge of Perl scripting
