Finance Manager
KEY DELIVERABLES:
· Responsible for the Reporting of AZ Canada Financial Results and Business Performance including comparisons and commentary to established targets based on business drivers.
· Responsible for the overall management of the AZ Canada's Annual Business Update (ABU) cycle and the quarterly Rolling Business Updates (RBU).
· Responsible for delivering business partnering to the HR and OBR functions
ACTIVITIES:
· Responsible for the monthly and quarterly financial analysis for the organization, identifying areas requiring attention through management reports.
· Responsible for keeping abreast of corporate reporting requirements and ensuring appropriate information is collected or changes implemented in order to meet all corporate deliverables and due dates.
· Responsible for Monthly, Quarterly and Annual AFFIRM reporting to Global.
· Liaison with Global contacts/representatives with respect to reporting and RBU/ABU requirements to ensure Canada is represented.
· Responsible for the RBU/ABU including:
o Coordinating and communicating milestones to the business,
o Facilitating the review by Senior Mgmt,
o Analysis of budget drivers related to performance,
o Final submission for AZ Canada,
o Delivery of a reference package for use by the Executive Team.
· Responsible for Management reporting and commentary, including the Executive Package, and improvements or consolidation of current reports.
· Work collaboratively with business partners to ensure that financial targets are met.
o Participate on business partner teams to understand business partner activities and interpret implications in financial terms
o Provide reports, analysis, and recommendations for decision making
o Provide financial awareness and education to promote efficient use of resources & fiduciary integrity
· Responsible for utilizing technology currently available and investigating new technology in order to improve and expand current management reporting and/or assist in budgeting collection and analysis.
· Undertakes appropriate analysis, in a proactive manner, in order to provide meaningful reporting to senior management to support effective decision-making and operational benchmarking of business activities.
· Responsible for preparing financial portion of quarterly Executive Forum.
· Responsible for two analysts
· Responsible for reviewing various Stats Can or R & D surveys.
Qualifications
· Professional Accounting designation
· Experience in managing major projects and initiatives simultaneously
· Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to present concepts at all levels in an organization, particularly at the senior management level.
· Excellent interpersonal, leadership skills and collaborative management style.
· Strong ability to anticipate management information requirements.
· Excellent change management skills and strong conflict resolution skills.
· Ability to identify opportunities for improvement in a timely and effective manner.
· Experience using a variety of business decision-making methodologies such as key performance indicators.
· Able to work independently.
· Able to motivate staff to deliver top notch performance.
· Strong ability to manage resource allocation within a project environment.
· Excellent organizational abilities.
· Strong technical proficiency in all aspects of MS Windows -PowerPoint, Word, Project.
· Experience in an SAP environment.
· Familiarity with Global systems (AFFIRM, SCORE, etc) and the dependencies and interactions between systems
· Familiarity with product costing and variance analysis
