Fleet Maintenance Supervisor
SUPERVISOR, FLEET MAINTENANCE 9.4.07
Working with an energetic, talented and committed team in our Fleet Maintenance Office, you will ensure the effective and efficient management and coordination of vehicle inspection, repair, cleaning and maintenance operations, under the direction of the Senior Supervisor. This position is responsible for supervising all assigned bargaining unit personnel; ensuring that all work adheres to Ministry of Transportation legislated requirements; coordinating the repair and return of bus equipment with outside contractors; investigating employee complaints and handling grievances. This position will involve working shifts/weekends at all Fleet Maintenance Facilities.

Qualifications: Must have Truck and Coach Technician - 310T and the Automotive Service Technician - 310S designations, normally attained through completion of a community college program in automotive repair, or any combination of education, training, and experience deemed equivalent. Minimum of four years’ working experience as a Truck and Coach Technician - 310T designation. Detailed knowledge of heavy transit vehicle maintenance and repairs performed to manufacturers’ specifications. Proficiency in the reading of schematics, and knowledge of state of the art transit and mechanical technology. Sound knowledge of garage management practices, preventative maintenance theory and pertinent MTO, MOE, MOL legislated requirements. Good oral and written communication skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships. Ability to supervise and organize the work output of several work units. Computer experience in word processing, spreadsheet applications, and data entry would be an asset. Must have a valid Ontario Class 'G' driver's licence and meet the corporate standard for a good driving record. Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Class 'C' driver's licence with “Z” endorsement. Must successfully complete environmental, safety and any other training required by corporate policy.
