Senior System and Server Specialist
SENIOR SYSTEM AND S.A.N. SPECIALIST
Our client is a large retailer in Canada operating in all 10 provinces.
Their Technical Services department is responsible for the selection, configuration, integration of server hardware and operating systems to support their Information Technology infrastructure. This includes the responsibility of preserving company data and making it available to various business processes. This data may consist of files, databases and emails and have the ability to be delivered to a business process through an application, file transfer, direct file access, print or email.
Reporting to: Manager, Technical Services
Key Responsibilities
Accountable for primary support of our Storage Area Network infrastructure including data management, replication, storage, switch fabric and backups
Responsible for the installation, monitoring and support of Windows systems & application software including Windows Clustering Services.
Responsible for the problem resolution on VMware installations, Windows Active Directory, High performance server hardware and associated software.
Assist with Online team in code promotions and upgrades.
Responsible for pro-active performance monitoring of operating systems & systems software.
Qualifications
Very strong and proven skills in all current Windows systems environments.
Very strong and proven skills in SAN architecture and deployment.
Very strong and proven skills working in a multiple server Microsoft web environment with IIS 7.0 and ASP.Net
Hands on Microsoft Server Clustering Services experience.
Demonstrated skills in VMware Administration.
Use of load balancing technologies.
Knowledge of VPN and communication protocols
Hands-on experience working with Microsoft DNS and Active Directory
Excellent troubleshooting skills with emphasis on problem resolution.
Ability to work under pressure of restrictive timelines.
Experience in a retail environment particularly regard to infrastructure compliance to PCI regulations.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with contacts effectively and efficiently.
Excellent planning and organizational skills.
Prepared to work off hours and travel within the GTA as required. The use of a car may be needed from time to time to reach our production facilities. |
