Sr Business System Analyst
Openlane is seeking a Senior Business Systems Analyst to support the development of customized online wholesale automotive marketplaces. The Business Systems Analyst works within the Project Management and Business Analysis group, which is responsible for identifying system requirements, drafting detailed functional and interface requirements, working with a web designer on page design, navigating the functional requirements through to launch, as well as providing escalation support for systems that are already deployed. The key responsibility is to take requirements from stakeholders and end-users and refine and translate them into detailed functional specifications that support the overall company strategy, and meet the needs of the targeted end users.
Core Responsibilities:
- Reviewing, analyzing and evaluating business systems and user needs
- Working closely with Project Manager to ensure on-time delivery of systems
- Creating clear and concise Functional Requirements Documents to support system design
- Acting as the voice of the customer in interactions with engineering and QA
- Coordinating development, testing and deployment with the engineering team
- Provide clients and end-users with insight into application rules and processes.
- Assisting with, and directing the creation of mockups and prototypes for the purpose of capturing requirements.
- Working with designers, developers, architects, and QA to ensure comprehension and feasibility of requirements.
- Assist QA and end-users with verifying application functionality; and that application functionality adheres to requirements.
- Assist with planning and coordinating UAT testing.
- Manage requirements repository, including document management.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years software (preferably Internet, eCommerce or Enterprise Software) Business Systems Analysis, Inbound Product Management and/or release planning experience
- Experience transforming user requirements into documented functional requirements
- Experience with web technologies e.g. HTML/Browsers, Web Services/XML, etc) and other data exchange mechanisms e.g. FTP, Fixed Length, Delimited
- Familiarity with relational databases and client-server systems
- Experience with multiple development methodologies (Waterfall, XP, Scrum) a plus
- Experience in business systems consulting environment, implementing enterprise systems desirable
- Knowledge of UML, data modeling and sequence diagramming is an asset
- Bachelors degree in related field
